Hididlly Ho Homerstuckerinos. My name is Austin, or if you've seen me in the "quote" and then un-quoted "Old West", you may recognize me as the ruthless degenerate. 'Angry Austin' who is wanted primarily for watching 'The Simpsons' too much. I'm a long time writer, singer and voice actor and while I don't have much up for display here On The Net, I've been at it pretty much my whole life. I started my long and arduous Homestuck hell crusade back in 2011 when things were starting to get REAL SERIOUS (or as serious as Homestuck can truly get which admittedly, is decently serious, a little, sometimes) in the comic and my friends who have been pestering (pestering is Homestuck for online chatter) me for months on end and showing me various random images of card suits and the yellow eyed cousins of 'The Greys' had finally broken my spirit and gotten me to look at the weird no arms comic right at the tail end of the 'Cascade' fiasco, which I then watched and presumably, it being 2011, probably said something akin to the creator being on a certain smoking drug. But as all good and mediocre and bad facets to life begin, that day, little Austin was never the same. And I eventually was drafted in and joined the ranks of the fanbase and claimed my way to sort-of fame initially by pretty much ripping off Octopimp and his voices because I could play the impression game with his material pretty damn well and took the rungs of being 'that guy who would say the things they wouldn't' like some sort of unspoken word martyr for the cause, but with more 'nyeh' and 'wweh'. I did a few various other works like some dumb doodles and joke speakings but I haven't really done much with the actual Homestuck property itself publicly very much, my focus being much more turned to working on fan adventure with a creative partner of mine since 2013, also pretty quietly. Using the Homestuck concepts as more of a medium (haha more homestuck words) to try and tell a much more emotionally driven deconstruction story about fan content called 'Vast Error'. Which has been updated rather sparingly but still continues to this day. I'm here because I want to help write out for the cause, narration, plot development and character are kind of my bag and if sack lunches full of text were money, I'd be Richie Rich in two seconds flat. Also to hopefully contribute to what truly needs to be seen, which is jpeg artifacts and the triumphant return of our stalwart heroes, Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, which I actually made an ending to back in 2013. It was illegible and couldn't be seen without zooming in through the haze and small text, it was what I consider my masterwork. I'll keep most of my personal stuff personal but I'm 18 years old, autistic, and in college for Computer Science. I live in Florida and I drink more soda than I think is right for human consumption. I also like to Capitalize For Emphasis and am the resident Joker. thats all i can think of have a bart: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/d8/33/34/d8333487515af363925e991891313082.jpg

Hi Austin, welcome to the forum! I went and read through Vast Error, and I'm glad to hear it's still being updated, albeit slowly. We'd love to have your help on Act 8. A lot of the writing discussion happens in the IRC channel these days, with group editing sessions announced on the Act8OfficialTeam Tumblr.

Hi Jo, welcome to the forum! I really like what I've heard of your music so far (and will definitely be checking out those links for more), and am so excited to hear that you'll be doing more music for Act 8. I am not musical at all, so I'm really impressed by folks who know the arcane secrets of Sound Wizardry.

Hi, I'm the maid of blood, or you can call me Vriska or Felix. I just found out about this project and it seems really cool. I'm a writer and an artist, and I'd love to be able to help out in some way, but even if I can't I'll be watching.

Welcome, maid of blood! There's a lot to be done, so I'm sure there will be ways for you to help out if you want to. But even if you just want to keep track of the project and maybe socialize, it's great to have you here either way )

Uh, heya all! I'm Just gonna go by Brad here, I'm a genderfluid, nervous as heck 16 year old just finishing my GCSEs. I too was let down by the ending, so much so I started my own FA, but let's not talk about that here. I was so deeply disappointed by all the unfinished archs and glaringly obvious plotholes. I kinda want to help with this as my FA is going nowhere fast, having been screamed at by my co-creator for it multiple times, I'm getting put off my own work... I was wandering if there's any space for music? I used an 8-bit software called beepbox to create this, this and a few other short melodies, like this and this. However, I have recently discovered another music sequencer I enjoy. It's much less restrictive with an easier interface, so I'll be experimenting with this. I'm a rouge of time myself, so I'm not to sure if my music is actually any good. While I currently suck at a buncha stuff. I hope that if I work with such a group, I should be able to push myself to improve. I'm also a massive nerd, like a huge one, I've poured hours into researching game design and how it works just to have a chance of getting in the industry, despite it's systematic flaws and such. If anyone wants to talk to me, feel free, I'm always lonely. ;w;/ ((Oh, free artwork just in case anyone wants to see if I'm good enough for the thing, but it's still a wip.

Hi Brad, welcome to the forum! I am not musical at all, and hadn't heard of BeepBox before, but it looks kind of fun to play with. I'm sorry to hear your own FA isn't going well ( I think the more musicians we have on the team, the better, and there should be opportunities for you to help with Act 8 if you decide you want to. That WIP looks pretty good, too! I would love to see it when it's finished.

Sup everyone! My name's Sassy, I'm a 34 year old Australian who is also a Sylph of Light, at least according to the last questionnaire thingy I took which was quite a while ago. I'm an artist both visually and the written word, and while my Homestuck goods have lessened in the past months I am still a fan and enjoy talking and thinking up scenarios with the characters. I role play too, though that is done all but exclusively through Skype or a wayward msparp chat room. I'll most likely be active when the majority of you guys are sleeping peacefully in your bed on account of being on the other side of the planet, but I hope that won't get in the way of meeting new people!
That's all for now, adios my fine folk.

Hi Sassy, I'm familiar with your work from Tumblr, and it's some good stuff! The nice thing about forums is that being in wildly different timezones isn't too much of a problem. I look forward to reading whatever you post, and hope you have a fun time here )

Hello.
I go by Max, Mordikai, /u/meticulousWhimsy, or "that meme spewing fuckboi", depending on context. I found this project over the weekend, and am impressed by the fidelity of the work. You all are making something interesting here.
Perhaps unusually for those interested in this project, I think that the ending to Homestuck was fantastic. Granted, it took me some time to piece together what it was that Hussie tried to convey, but I legitimately feel that the comic should not have ended any other way. My favorite essay on the topic(and the one that best encapsulates my own opinions) is here ==>(https://medium.com/@roseofnobility/apotheosis-and-creation-myth-2257d7bf5854#.rtg6i9gtx). Though I would strongly encourage the curious to read it, be warned that it is very long.
The broad gist of the theory is that the Alpha Timeline(which is equivalent to the narrative in most respects) is actually a "curse" of sorts, laid upon the beta kids by Caliborn via the house juju. It robs the afflicted players, and all others that exist within their causal frame of reference, of true choice. All the main characters are limited to the path that leads to the creation of Lord English. Escaping this curse necessitated an escape from the story, hence the abrupt ending.
Honestly, I can't do this justice with my brief paragraph; please, read the linked essay before you cast your stones.
However, even though I find this concept of being "Unstuck" satisfying, I think that everyone wanted to see more of their favorites. The abandoned plot still had conflicts to resolve and character developments to explore, with a canvas of infinite possibility-space upon which to enact them. So, while on one level I am satisfied, it is a satisfaction brings with it hunger anew. If any of what I just wrote made sense(its a complex subject and I'm a bit sleep deprived), then you now know why I want in on this cool thing.
With my motives explained, I present my offering. Now, I cannot claim to have any skill in composition of art or music, and have no experience in writing fanfiction. Fortunately, you already have many people offering to provide in those areas, so I hardly feel as though I should stretch myself to do something I am ill-fitted to.
What I CAN do is write code, in a smattering of a half-dozen languages. My CS classes primarily use C/C++ and Python, but I have enough experience with HTML5 and Javascript to claim a roughshod competence with both. Additionally, I've fiddled around with the Jterniabound engine(https://github.com/Fugiman/Jterniabound) and know how to make it do thigns.
I don't know if you plan to incorporate a walkaround into the adventure, but if you do, I would be happy to lend my skills to further that end.
Otherwise, I'll chime in with ideas and suggestions whenever one strikes me.

Hi max! I agree with you about the nature of the ending and alpha timeline, and I hope you'll be pleased with our plot draft once you get your hands on it. You've come in at an excellent time in the project with very relevant skills, and I'm happy to welcome you. I'm sure you'll be hearing from blue and austin soon, as they're working on something that could use your help, and I'm very excited to see what you guys will make. Hope you have fun here in team 8!
